Today, we welcomed 10 students participating in the Japan-America Student Conference (JASC) to Kinmon Gakuen!
The group, consisting of students from the U.S. and Japanese delegations participating in JASC’s Identity, Community & Polarization Roundtable, visited San Francisco’s Japantown as part of the Roundtable’s field trip to learn about Japanese American history, culture, and community.
Professor Masahiko Minami, Director of Education at Kinmon Gakuen, gave a presentation on the history of Japantown, the Japanese American community, and Kinmon Gakuen, followed by a guided tour of our historic school building. Students also viewed historical photographs and learned about our ongoing efforts to preserve this historic school building for future generations.
We were delighted to share Kinmon Gakuen’s history and mission with such an engaged group of students. Thank you for visiting, and we wish everyone the very best in the rest of your JASC program!
